American Electric Power (AEP) needs to perform at the following locations. Tree trimming/cutting is an effort by AEP to eliminate tree contact from Overhead Power Lines. Trees selected for work will be identified by the AEP Forestry Department. 2021 work will be on circuits feeding out of our Elliottsville Substation, which is near The Dairy Barn on Dairy Lane. There are two circuits feeing out of this substation, mainly feeding the south end of Athens City. Our proposed work for these circuits will start August 1, 2021 and continue through December 31, 2021.
Weather is the biggest factor in the completion of this work. After the tree trimming/cutting is complete, every four years AEP would again perform the same route provided no line relocation has taken place. Asplundh Tree Expert Company, contractors of AEP, started marking trees in Mid July 2021. Asplundh personnel do make attempts to contact property owners in the affected areas. If personal contact is not made, Asplundh will leave a door hanger with contact information if the customer has questions. Also, a telephone message will be made to customers on the affected circuits. Listed below are general streets and areas where we will be working: Dairy Lane Near Ridges Richland Ave. Mulligan Rd.
