Streets Maintenance
The street maintenance section is responsible for the upkeep of city roads and right-of-ways.
Services
The street maintenance crew, consisting of 12 maintenance technicians and one street maintenance specialist, performs a wide variety of daily tasks from paving asphalt and brick roads to mowing rights-of-way to collecting yard waste. The street maintenance crew repairs potholes and damaged road surfaces and also paints traffic markers, maintains signs, closes streets for special events, and assists the water and sewer sections with repairs to the road surface after water-main breaks.
Facilities
The street maintenance section is based out of the Public Works and Engineering Annex at 387 W. State Street. This facility is, however, closed to the public and all public inquiries should refer to 30 Curran Drive.
Staff
The street maintenance staff consists of twelve full-time maintenance technicians, one street maintenance specialist, and assorted seasonal maintenance staff.
