Athens City Council

The legislative power of the city, Athens City Council, is composed of seven (7) members, four (4) of whom are elected by wards and three (3) of whom are elected by electors of the city at large. City Council Members are elected in odd numbered years and serve a two year term.

City Council meets in Regular Session every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in the Council Chambers on the third floor of the City Building.

Committees meet on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month generally at 7:00pm.

The public is invited to all City Council and Committee meetings.
