Athens Takes it Off 2011
Athens Takes it Off will be back for its second installation and we are very excited about it. Be on the lookout for updates and news as the registration nears.
What you need to know:
Registration is from December 6 - 18
Weigh-in will be January 3rd & 4th at various locations
Seminars, classes, and other opportunities will be available throughout the duration of the competition
Weigh-out will be March 14th & 15th
End celebration and party will be March 17th
Looking for the motivation to get fit?
- Round up a team of your co-workers, family members, or friends and sign up for Athens Takes it Off -A friendly area competition designed to help community members to get in shape and improve their health.
- There will be several seminarsand speakers durning the program, promoting and encouragingf individuals on a variety of topics.
How do I participate? REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED
- To enter the competition, you must create a team of three to five members, designate a captain, and make a name for your new group. Each team is required to pay an entry fee of $50, which is due at the time of registration.
- Once created, teams must read through the rules and regulations, then complete the attached registration form, and return it to the Athens Community Center along with the $50 entry fee.
- Make checks payable to Athens Community Center, memo Athens Takes it Off. They may be dropped off in person at the Athens Community Center.
- There will be 3 weigh-in dates. Individual weight will be confidential. The location for weigh-ins will be at WellWorks, the Athens Community Center and HeartWorks. There will also be an opportunity to weigh in at Hocking College for limited time periods.
When does the contest begin and how do you win?
- The contest is 10 weeks long
- The winning score is determined using the following formula: a = starting team weight, b = ending team weight, c = difference
- a - b = c
- c / a = Team score aka percentage lost for team
- There will be other prizes and awards to be announced soon!
Athens Takes it Off 2010 Information
Athens Takes it Off winners and scores:
1st GOAL Diggers 12.786% Won $1000 and choice of membership to The Athens Community Center or WellWorks
2nd Counterweight 12.073% Won $650 and membership to The Athens Community Center or WellWorks
3rd The Grizzlies 12.059% Won $350
