Project #296 NW Athens Bikeway Spur Phase 3 – 

This project includes the third phase of the NW Athens Bikeway Spur Project: Armitage Road to University Estates Boulevard.  Allard Excavation, LLC is the Contractor for the project.

Project #321 Richland Avenue Bridge Rehabilitation -          

The project includes the rehabilitation of the Richland Avenue bridge near 362 Richland Avenue. The existing bridge was constructed over Coates Run in 1935, and is a two-span reinforced concrete slab. The project includes rehabilitating the bridge with a single reinforced concrete span.    

The  project is scheduled for construction between May and fall, 2019.  This project will be completed with partial width construction in two phases.  During each phase, one lane of Richland Avenue will be closed between the entrance to the Summit at Coates Run and Greenbrier Drive, and two-way traffic will be maintained with a temporary traffic signal.

Project #311 Richland Avenue Pedestrian Improvements -

The existing at-grade crosswalk on Richland Avenue, between West Green Drive and Bobcat Lane, sees 6615 pedestrians per day with 584 pedestrians crossing during peak hour (2015 data). The improvements at the existing at-grade crosswalk on Richland Avenue include a grade-separated pedestrian facility.  Design will continue through 2018 and spring 2019.

Project #315 Stimson Avenue Improvements-

This project will extend from the roundabout to State Street. The purpose of the project is to improve safety, upgrade intersections, promote accessibility, update lighting, provide streetscape aesthetics, and replace city water, sewer, and storm infrastructure. 

Detailed design of the project will be completed in 2019, and construction is scheduled for 2020.
