Robert C. Heady, P.E., P.S., ENV SP - Director of Public Works and City Engineer. Mr. Heady was born and raised in Ohio and is an Ohio licensed Professional Engineer and Surveying Intern. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering degree from Ohio University and previously served as a project manager for two private engineering firms and as a Design Engineer/Bridge Program Team Leader for two Ohio County Engineers.
Robert is very involved in the profession of Engineering and also enjoys spending time with his family and being in the outdoors. He serves on the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Department of Civil Engineering Advisory Board and as a Practitioner Advisor for the American Society of Civil Engineers – Ohio University Student Chapter. He is a member of: the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio, Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, and American Society of Highway Engineers.
Robert, his wife Sarah, and son Jacob are looking forward to meeting the community. Robert looks forward to serving the City of Athens in his new capacity and is excited to meet the City’s staff, officials, and citizens.
The City of Athens Engineering and Public Works Department conducts all-season maintenance of public rights of way and the city fleet, delivers high quality drinking water, and provides clean sewage removal in order to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens of Athens.
