Athens Community Arts, Parks, and Recreation


The Mission of the Athens Community Arts, Parks & Recreation Department is to provide Athens and area residents comprehensive programs, activities and facilities that encourage health, fitness and cultural recreational, educational, and social opportunities in our community.


The Athens Community Arts, Parks and Recreation Department offers more than 500 recreation and leisure opportunities for all ages and interests such as: athletics, childcare, sport camps, arts and crafts, aquatics, community events, dance, and wellness and general interest. Our youth and adult athletic programs are an excellent opportunity for the novice to learn a new sport or the highly skilled player to be challenged in one of our many leagues. The Athens City Pool offers the Red Cross "Learn to Swim Program" and offers both day and evening classes throughout the summer months.
